A Message from the President

Beth BolandMy fellow NACD members and corporate directors,

We have embarked upon our 2017-2018 season of programming, I am mindful of, and grateful for, the support of our chapter’s board of directors.  Our board members work tirelessly on our programming committee, our strategic outreach with other organizations, in support of our Director of the Year awards, and to ensure that you, our members, enjoy world class NACD events.

The events in our season promise to be educational, topical and timely.  In addition to our very popular Breakfast Series, we have rolled out our new Boot Camp Series.  We will host two Boot Camps this season; the Aspiring Director Boot Camp in May 2018, and the Experienced Director Boot Camp in June 2018.  We are also experimenting with a new webcast series, which delves into issues pertinent to your service on your boards.

Please mark your calendars for our upcoming Breakfast programs. We began our season with our annual The New England Visionaries Speak event.  Our panelists shared their insight on a host of broad-ranging topics.  HERE is a link to the event writeup, with a Meeting Summary available for download.

On October 17th our Chapter, in conjunction with the MA Business Roundtable, will offer a fascinating program on Building a Great Board.  On November 14th we will take an in-depth look at Compensation Trends – The Four You Can’t Ignore.  Experienced public company compensation chairs and committee members will share their thoughts and experience on navigating the evolving role of the Compensation Committee.  We will begin 2018 with our annual January event, focusing on Hot Topics for your Annual Meeting.  This year we look at the topics through the lens of sustainability.

Thank you for your commitment to leadership in your boardrooms.  We hope to see you many times during this programming season and we value any insights you wish to share with your chapter leadership.
