Directors Daily Headlines:
A Message from the President
My fellow NACD members and corporate directors,
Our NACD Chapter continues to grow, thanks to the leadership of our board of directors, the support of our chapter sponsors, and the involvement of our NACD member community in our activities. On behalf of our Chapter’s board, I wish to thank you for your commitment to board leadership and governance.
We are delighted to report that the Honorees for our Eleventh Annual Director of the Year Gala have been selected. This is an impressive slate of Honorees and I hope that you will join us as we celebrate their accomplishments at the Seaport Hotel on May 3, 2017. The Honorees are:
Myra H. Kraft Leadership in Nonprofit Governance: Michael R. Eisenson
Leadership in Corporate Governance: Pamela Reeve
Private Company Board of the Year: FM Global
Public Company Board of the Year: General Electric
Lifetime Achievement Award: Matina S. Horner, Ph.D.
Each of these individuals and companies have had a profound impact on our business and civic communities.
Our Program Committee is hard at work on our upcoming calendar and I believe that our NACD members will find this to be a compelling slate of events. We continue to focus on timely issues facing all directors and we feature top-notch expert speakers, as well as currently serving directors, to share their glimpses into their boardrooms. We are hosting two Director Boot Camps this Spring, for Aspiring Directors on June 8th and for Experienced Directors on May 17th.
We have also forged successful partnerships with other organizations in our region, including the Massachusetts High Technology Council, the New England Venture Capital Association, MassBio, The Greater Boston and Providence Chambers of Commerce, and the New England Council.
View the 2016 – 2017 event calendar here. Please do not hesitate to contact me or other NACD New England Chapter leaders with any questions or ideas about our work in the year ahead. Thank you – I look forward to seeing you at an event soon.
